HillTop Cabin

Note: The HillTop Cabin will be available for the season starting in April.

  • Stay: 2- 28 nights
  • Sleeps: 1-3 people

Forty acres of woods, meadows, and fields, in the heart of the Driftless Area, offers space to unplug, slow down, renew and rejuvenate. The HillTop Cabin is perfect for a writing or meditation retreat. It is a safe place to take a step back from usual daily routines and allow space for healthy thoughts and nourishing practices to replace any unhealthy patterns. A longer stay allows time for nature immersion, journaling, solitude, and self care, as well as access to our other offerings to support your intentions.

With Sound Meditation and more available on site, we can help you plan your own personal wellness retreat. Please reach out if you are interested in our additional services/offerings.

Space & Amenities

The HillTop Cabin is nestled between the woods and meadows, overlooking rolling hills. This cabin is 16′ x 20′ and has an open floor plan along with a small dressing room. A small road cuts through our 40 acres, and the cabin has complete privacy on the approximately 15 acres on the south side of the road. There is an outhouse with a composting toilet (sawdust bucket system), as well as an off-grid heated shower that may be used with water from the rain barrel. With the solar electric system, the cabin has everything needed for a comfortable stay.

Six gallons of potable (safe to drink) water is provided. Two-gallon taps at each of the 2 sinks, and 2 1-gallon jugs. There is no conventional running water. There is most often non-potable water in the rain barrel which is good for showering and washing hair. For longer stays, more water will be needed, and is available at the house.

A full size bed, along with bedding is provided. Another person could potentially sleep on the floor, and we are happy to provide a folding mattress (75x31x4 inches) upon request.

Kitchen things we provide: cook stove, mini-fridge with small freezer, cutting board and sharp knives, salt and pepper and a few spices, coconut oil, can opener, silverware and dishes, pots and pans, flippers, stirrers, whisk, dish soap and strainer, dishcloths, dish and hand towels, tea kettle for heating water, press pot for coffee, and matcha whisk. Please poke around in the cabinets so you know where things are!

Other miscellaneous items: small fan, dresser for your clothing and items (spare sheets are in the bottom drawer), bath and hand towels, and small wood-stove for heat.
